1. Scope
This policy applies to everything you host with us, everything you send through our network and anyone you allow to use your account. You are responsible for your users, your clients and anyone who obtains access through you.
If you hold a reseller hosting plan, this policy applies to every client account you create and to everything your clients host. Make sure your clients know these rules, and act promptly when we pass a complaint to you.
2. Prohibited content
You must not store, publish, link to or distribute:
- content that is unlawful under Malaysian law or, where your service is hosted in Singapore, Singapore law;
- child sexual abuse material, in any form, without exception;
- material that infringes copyright, trade marks or other intellectual property rights;
- malware, viruses, ransomware, exploit kits, or tools whose main purpose is unauthorised access;
- phishing pages, fake login screens, or any page designed to be mistaken for another organisation;
- content that incites violence, terrorism or racial or religious hatred;
- fraudulent schemes, including fake shops, investment scams and money-laundering fronts;
- material that is defamatory or that harasses or threatens an identifiable person.
3. Prohibited activities
- Spam. Sending unsolicited bulk email from our servers, or using our servers to support a spam operation hosted elsewhere.
- Mail list abuse. Mailing to purchased, scraped or unverified lists, or without a working unsubscribe mechanism.
- Network attacks. Port scanning, denial of service, brute force attempts, packet sniffing or attempting to access systems you do not own.
- Cryptocurrency mining of any kind, and blockchain node operation.
- Resource abuse. Deliberately consuming CPU, memory, disk or bandwidth in a way that degrades the shared server for others. See the Fair Use and Backup Policy.
- File distribution. Operating file dumps, backup drives, media libraries or torrent trackers where the hosting is incidental to storage rather than to a website.
- Proxies and VPNs. Running open proxies, anonymising relays, VPN endpoints or Tor nodes.
- IRC and bots. Operating IRC servers, bouncers or automated bot networks.
- Circumvention. Attempting to bypass account limits, access other accounts on the server, or escalate privileges.
4. Email sending
Outbound email is rate limited to protect the reputation of our mail servers. If you send legitimate bulk email such as newsletters or transactional mail at volume, use a dedicated email service provider rather than the shared server. Tell us in advance if you expect unusual volume and we will advise.
All marketing email you send must comply with applicable anti-spam requirements, including a genuine opt-in, an accurate sender identity and a working unsubscribe link.
5. Software you install
You must keep applications, themes and plugins updated. An outdated installation is the most common cause of a compromise on shared hosting, and a compromise on your account puts every other account on that server at risk.
Where we detect a compromised or dangerously outdated installation, we will contact you and, if the risk is immediate, suspend the affected site until it is resolved.
6. Enforcement
Our response is proportionate to what has happened:
| Situation | What we do |
|---|---|
| Minor or accidental breach, no ongoing harm | We contact you and give a reasonable period to fix it |
| Resource use affecting other clients | We contact you, and may throttle or suspend the offending process if it continues |
| Compromised account or active malware | Immediate suspension of the affected site, then notification and help to clean it |
| Phishing, spam campaigns or attacks on third parties | Immediate suspension without prior notice |
| Child sexual abuse material | Immediate termination, preservation of evidence and report to the authorities |
| Repeated breaches after warning | Termination without refund |
On a reseller hosting plan we act on the client account concerned where that is enough, and tell you what we did. Repeated breaches across your client accounts are treated as repeated breaches by you.
7. No refund on termination for breach
Where an account is terminated for breaching this policy, no refund is due, including on a lifetime plan. This is set out in the Refund Policy.
8. Reporting a breach
If you believe something hosted with us breaches this policy, report it to abuse@paduhost.com. Our Abuse and Copyright page explains what to include and what happens next.
9. Changes
We may update this policy as new forms of abuse appear. Material changes will be notified by email at least 30 days before they take effect.
